downtohuck asked: So the few girls and I who play on the guys' (technically co-ed, but really guys') ultimate team at my college have decided we're going to form a women's team. It's a daunting undertaking. Any suggestions for an initial event to get people interested (despite it being the middle of winter) and ways to develop team unity after people join? I'm excited, but I'm not optimistic...
There are 2 options that I can think of.
How you develop team unity comes after you choose which path you want to take. Normally you’d want team building activities. That’s quite easy with Ultimate’s nature.
First option is a lot faster, but it can get quite messy. Second option is glacial. It might take you a few years to set it up. A combination might work, where you just grab anyone who shows interest, then slowly weed out the really good ones. Realistically, it will take 2-3 years until you can get a really good team together. Good luck!
